How an air handler works

Inside a 3 ton air handler, refrigerant flows through the coil to absorb or release heat while the blower pushes conditioned air into your ducts. With a heat pump it handles both heating and cooling; add an electric heat kit and it provides backup heat on cold days or primary heat in an all-electric home.
